Morihiko Murashige Shihan

Born in Obatake village in the Yamaguchi Prefecture in 1945, Morihiko (Mark) Murashige began studying aikido under with father Aritoshi Murashige
at the age of 17.
After meeting O-Sensei and Chiba sensei Murashige moved to Tokyo and began his training at Hombu Dojo. For six years he studied daily under O-Sensei and Yamaguchi Sensei under the guidance of Chiba, Kanai, and Yamada sensei among others.
In 1965 Murashige began teaching at Yamada sensei's dojo in New York. Three years later he returned to Japan, and after several more moves settled in San Diego where he joined Chiba sensei after the opening of San Diego Aikikai in 1981.
Kevin Choate Sensei
Starting in 1976 with Shigeru Suzuki Sensei, Kevin Choate Sensei has over thirty years of Aikido experience. Chief instructor at Chicago Aikikai since 1981, Choate Sensei received his 6th degree black belt from Mitsugi Saotome Shihan in 1998.
Today, Choate Sensei continues to train as a student of Saotome Shihan and Hiroshi Ikeda Shihan. Choate Sensei teaches as a senior instructor for Aikido Schools of Ueshiba and travels frequently to conduct Aikido seminars across the country and overseas.
Todd Jones Sensei
Todd Jones is the founder and chief instructor of the American Butokukan, an international, not-for-profit, organization with clubs at universities across the United States and abroad. He began his martial arts study at age thirteen in taekwondo, and later in kendo, iaido, and aikido. He was a state and national karate champion from 1978 to 1983.
Frank McGouirk Sensei
Frank McGouirk began aikido under Koichi Tohei sensei and founded founded Aikido-Ai in 1981. A certified Qigong and Tai Chi teacher, he co-founded the Whittier Dharma Kai Zen Center with Zen Master Ji Bong in 1983 and currently is the center's Abbot.
He is pleased to be associated with his teacher, Frank Doran, and proud of his son, Billy McGouirk, 5th Dan, who is also Doran's student.
Dang Thong Phong Sensei
Dang Thong Phong Sensei was born in 1935 and began martial arts in 1950. Phong holds a 6th dan in Aikido, 5th dan in Judo, 6th dan in Tae Kwon Do, and 8th dan in Han Bai Duong Vietnamese Shaolin Kung-fu.
Under O-Sensei, Phong became the founder and President of the Tenshinkai organization in Vietnam. After 18 attempts to escape Vietname, Phong came to the United States in 1986. Phong now teaches at Westminster Aikikai and seminars around the world.
